VMWare Player Top Toolbar Removal

I have searched around the internet to find a solution to removing the top toolbar (which is annoying in full-screen mode), and changing the hotkeys (default ones conflict with the shortcuts of switching workspaces).

I am using VMWare Player 3.1.4 on Windows Server 2008.

Changing hotkeys is dumb easy by adding the following lines into the file preferences.ini under C:\Users\mike.he\AppData\Roaming\VMware

pref.hotkey.shift = "true"
pref.hotkey.control = "true"
pref.hotkey.alt = "true"

While, I found many a bit aged solutions to git rid of the top toolbar by adding the following information to the file above.

pref.vmplayer.fullscreen.nobar = "TRUE"

Unfortunately, it didn’t work in my case. It warned me that TRUE is not a valid boolean value. So I tried to use 1 instead of "TRUE", and WOW, it simply worked.

My background of software did help this time. Smile
